The Master of Theological Studies is intellectually challenging and highly integrative. It cuts across traditional academic silos in theology and forces professors and students alike to find connections (and disconnects too!) between theology, general human knowledge and social realities of life. It is at those intersections that transformation happens powerfully for the sake of this world. We like to think of transformation primarily as a communal experience; but students tell us that our classes are equally formative at the level of personal stories and aspirations. Our first cohort includes students who are preparing to start innovative urban communities that connect theology to urban life. Geeks welcome too! Those who see themselves as intellectuals first (and perhaps world changers later?!) find that this degree works extremely well for Ph.D. preparation. It is accredited at the highest level (ATS).
IMPORTANT: We may be located in downtown Minneapolis, but our degree and courses are available by distance learning too, anywhere globally. If you can't come to our classes, you have a choice of participating by "Zoom" live video conference or you can watch the recordings later at your location, in your own time. Whichever you choose, everyone connects by "Moodle", our online platform of choice.
